The American Heart Association hosted their Second Annual Advancing Science's STEM event on Tuesday, April 23 aimed at encouraging high school students to consider a career in STEM and provided the opportunity to receive grants for their school's STEM programs. As a science-based organization, we know that to move the needle on important health breakthroughs, we need greater advancements in the field of STEM. That means encouraging all students to take a seat at the table.
If you know a school that would like to be involved in our 2020 Advancing Sciences event, please contact Drew Mick, Advancing Sciences Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Each year student attendees will be exposed to some of the Twin Cities leading science, med-tech and engineering companies like Abbott, Boston Scientific and Medtronic as they showcase their innovative work.
The day consists of:
• Morning breakout sessions led by top STEM-related companies
• Complimentary lunch and keynote speaker
• Speed mentoring and opportunities to network with Twin Cities leaders
• Evening reception with student expo where the top three schools will be awarded grants for their most innovative STEM projects
