Keynote Speaker: Yader B. Sandoval Pichardo
M.D. Interventional Cardiology, La Crosse
Dr. Sandoval received his medical degree from the Escuela Escuela Autónoma de Ciencias Médicas de Centro America in San Jose, Costa Rica. He completed his internal medicine residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, where in appreciation for his outstanding teaching in medical education and patient care, he was recognized with the Morris Davidman Resident Teaching award. He completed his Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at the Hennepin County Medical Center and Minneapolis Heart Institute at Abbott Northwestern Hospital program, where he was a Chief Cardiology Fellow. There, he accomplished advanced subspecialty training in in Interventional Cardiology.
Dr. Sandoval is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease and Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Sandoval is a physician-investigator whose work was been focused in the field of acute myocardial infarction and the use of cardiac troponin assays. His clinical research has resulted in numerous publications in high-impact peer reviewed journals and presentations at national meetings. Because of this work, he was recognized as a Young Investigator Award Finalist by the American College of Cardiology at the 2016 Scientific Sessions. He has authored over 40 peer-reviewed manuscripts and 50 national/regional abstracts, including notable publications in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology and the Lancet. He joined the Department of Cardiology in La Crosse in July 2017, where he offer both non invasive and invasive cardiovascular services, including procedures such as cardiac catheterizations and percutaneous coronary interventions.
